Cutting Affray Near Ritch
It is alleged that Joe S. Westberry and Henry Hillard engaged in a very exciting cutting affray on last Thursday night, which resulted in Hillard getting cut in eight places and to the hollow in one place.
Hillard was in his car with a young lady when stopped by Westberry. After the fracas Hillard and the young lady drove to Jesup where warrants were issued for Joe Westberry, charging him with assault with intent to murder, also one for Otis Westberry, son of Joe Westberry, as being implicated with the crime. The warrants were turned over to Sheriff L. W. Rogers, who went to the home of Joe Westberry and placed him and his son under bond to wait the November term of court.
