WILLIE WESTBERRY (MAGGIE5 BUNKLEY, MIRIAM ELLEN4 WESTBERRY, RABON KNIGHTEN3, RABUN2, MOSES1) was born February 19, 1912 in Wayne Co, Georgia, and died August 26, 1986 in Wayne Co, Georgia. He married ESSIE OTHELL JOHNSON September 22, 1931, daughter of MALCOLM JOHNSON. She was born January 26, 1915 in Wayne Co, Georgia, and died April 28, 2003 in Jesup, Georgia.

Johnson-Westberry – A marriage of much interest and which came as a complete surprise was that of Miss Othel Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Johnson, of Odum, Ga., to Mr. Willie Westberry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Westberry, of Odum, Ga., which was very quietly solemnized Tuesday afternoon at one o’clock, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Hires, of Redland with Mrs. Hires performing the ceremony. The young couple will be at home near Odum with their many friends.

Essie Othell Johnson Westberry, 87, died April 28, 2003, in Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center in Jesup. The life-long resident of Wayne County was a member of Odum Church of God and the Adult Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Westberry. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and L.C. Taylor of Valdosta; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Fred and Betty Westberry, Wayne and Mattie Westberry, Donald and Sandra Westberry and Glenn Westberry, all of Jesup; a sister, Ruby Henderson of Jesup; a brother, W.M. Johnson of Jesup; a half-sister, Emily Matthews of Darlington, S.C.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Odum Church of God with the Rev. Todd McDaniel and the Rev. Brian Hersey officiating. Active pallbearers will be Bud Womack, Kenny Herrin, Ron Jeffcoat, Dwayne Evors, Greg Sparks, Tim Westberry, David Westberry and Michael Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Adult Sunday School of Odum Church of God and the employees and staff of Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center of Jesup. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gordon-Harrison Funeral Home of Jesup.

v. CAROLYN ELOISE WESTBERRY, b. November 18, 1947, Wayne Co, Georgia.
