In The South Carolina Historical Magazine, Vol 62, 1961, Petitioners to the Crown Against the Proprietors, compiled by David McCord Wright—–WilliamWesburey and Thomas Westbury. January 23, 1716, William and his wife, Mary, were granted land on the South side of Pon Pon River. On March 14, 1717, William and Mary of Berkeley co., deeded 2 tracts of this land to John Givens of Colleton Co.
