WILLIAM WESTBURY

(EDWARD1) was born Abt. 1685, and died Bef. 1750. He married MARY EARLY/ELDER. She was born Abt. 1690, and died January 1778 in St James Parish, Goose Creek, South Carolina.

There is listed that “Ralph Emmes, Jr, had a warrant for one hundred and fifty acres of land attaching William Westburys Savana, Dated ye 9th of Xb…” from Warrants for Land in S C , 1692-1711 Sect Land Warrants 1692-1711 WFT CD # 517. In The South Carolina Historical Magazine, Vol 62, 1961, Petitioners to the Crown Against the Proprietors, compiled by David McCord Wright—–WilliamWesburey and Thomas Westbury. January 23, 1716, William and his wife, Mary, were granted land on the South side of Pon Pon River. On March 14, 1717, William and Mary of Berkeley co., deeded 2 tracts of this land to John Givens of Colleton Co.
