Penticton United Church Chapel was the setting for the wedding of Carol Lynn Schultz and Glen Allan Westbury on August 16, 1975 at 1:00 p.m.
Rev. Frank Chubb officiated at the double ring ceremony, accompanied by organist Mrs. W.C. McCall.
Lynn is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. Ewing of Prince Albert, Sask. and Glen is the only son of Mrs. Laura Westbury and the late Cliff Westbury of Penticton, B.C.
The altar was decorated with baskets of mixed pink and white flowers.
Entering the chapel escorted by her future husband, the bride wore a floor length hooded gown of misty sage jersey. Fashioned by the bride, her gown flowed gracefully from a short fitted bodice and featured long semi-shelled sleeves. She carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations, babies’ breath and stephanotis.
Matron of Honor was Mrs. LeAnne Anderson of Innisfail, Alta., who wore a hooded gown in a deeper shade of sage, created by herself in a design similar to the bride’s gown. She carried a small bouquet similar to the bride’s.
The groom’s attendant was John Anderson of Innisfail, Alta. The groom and best man wore brown tuxedos trimmed in dark brown velvet, with matching ties and frilled dress shirts.
A small buffet reception was held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. P.D. Huxley with Mrs. Audrey Sampson, friend of the family as hostess.
The bridal table featured a two tiered wedding cake decorated with pink rosebuds and flanked by pale green candles.
Toast to the bride and groom was given by the groom’s uncle, John Dyer of Swift Current, Sask.
Telegrams read by John Anderson, expressed congratulations from the bride’s relatives in Regina and Prince Albert, Sask. and from the maternal grandparents and relatives of the groom, Swift Current, Sask.
For going away, the bride wore a pale orange pantsuit with navy accessories and a corsage of white rosebuds.
The newlyweds will reside in Innisfail, Alta.
Out of town guests were from Swift Current, Shellbrook, Wiseton, Sask., Red Deer and Innisfail, Alta., and Yarrow and Kamloops, B.C.
