Funeral services for Mrs. Maude Hires Roberson, 72, of Jacksonville, Fla., mother of Mrs. Gordon Bishop of Jesup will be held this afternoon, Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Red Hill Baptist Church near Jesup. Mrs. Roberson, a former resident of Wayne County, died in a local hospital Tuesday afternoon, following a short illness. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Gordon Bishop of Jesup and Mrs. C. H. Kline of New York City, N. Y.; two sons, C. L. Roberson of Brunswick and Ben Roberson of Jacksonville; two brothers, T. L. and R. A. Hires of Odum; three sisters, Mrs. A. L. Epps, Kingstree, S. C., Mrs. A. H. Pinson, Mrs. Jeanette Ford, Sylvester and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. B. W. Sweat, pastor of Lane’s Avenue Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Fla., assisted by Rev. Floyd Jenkins of the First Baptist Church of Jesup and Rev. M. W. Drawdy. Pallbearers will be nephews Leon Hires, Cluese Hires, Theodore Hires, G. C. Hires, Arnold Hires and Stokes Albritton. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
