Engagements Announced.
Alford-Westberry. Mr. G. Floyd Alford, of Sylvester, announces the engagement of his sister, Bennie Love Alford, to Mr. Malcome Hugh Westberry, the marriage to take place Thursday morning, April 28, at the Baptist church.

Mercer Alumni to Organize. Macon, Ga., March 27. – (Special.) – A South Georgia Mercer Alumni association is to be organized and a meeting for that purpose will be called within the next few weeks. Hugh Westberry, of Sylvester, a graduate of Mercer, was in Macon today and discussed the proposed organization with the local college men and alumni. The principal object of the organization will be to create interest in Mercer among south Georgia people and to either endow a chair at the university or contribute to the athletic fund. There are hundreds of Mercer graduates in south Georgia who are said to be willing to join the alumni association.

FEC Hotel Official Dies – M. H. Westberry Passes at St. Augustine.
St. Augustine, Sept. 25 – M. H. Westberry, 63, prominent St. Augustine citizen, died unexpectedly last night of a heart attack. He had served for the past 23 years as assistant treasurer of the Florida East Coast Hotel Company. A native of Worth County, Ga., and a graduate of Mercer University, Westberry was prominent in St. Augustine civic, fraternal and church affairs. He was treasurer, member of the board of trustees and an elder of Memorial Presbyterian Church. He was a life member of the Elks, a Mason, member of the St. Augustine Shrine Club and past president of the St. Augustine Rotary Club. Surviving are two daughters, Sarah and Martha Westberry of this city; two sons, M. H. Westberry, Jr., Albany, Ga., and Loren P. Higgs, Abbington, Pa.; a sister, Mrs. J. D. Myers, Valdosta, Ga., and a brother, W. H. Westberry, Moultrie, Ga. Three grandchildren survive also. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock in Memorial Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. W. Howard Lee officiating. The body will be sent to Sylvester, Ga. for burial.

Mrs. M. Westberry, St. Augustine, Dies.
St. Augustine, Nov. 3 – Mrs. M. Westberry, long-time resident of St. Augustine, died this morning in a local hospital after a long illness. She was the former Bennie Love Alford of Worth County, Ga. She was a member of the Baptist Church, Maria Jefferson Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and other organizations. Surviving are her husband, M. H. Westberry; two daughters, Sara L. and Martha L. Westberry of St. Augustine; two sons, M. H. Westberry, Jr. and Loren P. Higgs of Shawnee-on-the-Delaware, Pa.; three sisters, Mrs. I. H. Mann, Sylvester, Ga.,; Mrs. E. K. Gully, Atlanta, Ga.; Mrs. Ruth Wimpy, Dahlonega, Ga., and one brother, E. J. Alford, Sylvester, Ga. Funeral services will be held in Sylvester Saturday.
