Notes

Notes from the original site.

5-31-06 Ok, Ok... I know it's been a while, but the updates are coming. Several of you have written me with updates and corrections. All of
these will be posted. Everything has been entered in the database, but it still has to be transferred to the site (I make that sound
easy). The updates started tonight with the addition of photos of Ira Wesley Westberry's family under the line of Josiah. To make
it easier... just click HERE and look at the next to the last line to the bottom, and the link at the bottom right. Thanks to Gary Louis Westberry for the latest additions! No, I haven't forgotten the rest of you who have been sending new stuff. Major updates will be done in the near future. Please be patient. (that means be kind to dumb animals) The site will continue to grow and improve. With your input, we can continue to help our family appreciate their history. Please keep sending the updates and corrections. Photos, especially older ones, are worth their weight in gold. Please share!
Thanks to all of you for putting up with my transition into this role! I enjoy what I do and look forward to having a much better site
in the near future. Thanks, Steve Westbrook

For any of you who noticed that the site was down, I’m sorry for the scare. The company that used to do hosting for the site went belly up without telling us. Unfortunately, they had already been paid to host the site through August of ’07. We all know where that money went! Anyway, we found a reliable hosting company and finally got the site transferred to their server.

A huge THANK YOU is in order for those who donated money to the site. It cost everything we had plus .90 cents to recover the site. Those donations are the reason you are able to read this right now. If you would like to help out with contributions please send an email to moses@westberry.com . It makes all the difference in the world.

There are some functions on the site that still are not working, but I should have things ironed out pretty soon.

Thanks to everyone for being patient while the site was down.

Steve

I regret to inform you that Charles Westberry has passed away. My name is Steve Westbrook. I am Charles’ 4th cousin and am a descendant of Moses Westberry. Charles asked me to keep the website and research alive after his death. I promised him I would.

Please bear with me. I’m new to this and there is a learning curve.

In the interest of the preservation of the site, we’re asking for donations to further secure the domain name and prepay the hosting fees. Contact me for information on how to send donations.

I can be reached by e-mail at .

Thanks,

Steve Westbrook

Another Cemetery has been added, again thanks to Gail Westberry Williams. It is the Braden River Cem in Bradenton, Florida. Braden and Arcadia are posted. All are Jarod descended. The 4 at Braden are Artise Walter chilluns, again, the ole life light went out early. Can not really understand why these family members, all of them, had very short lives, as I stated earlier.

March 27, 2005

It looks as if Noah Westberry, Jr, CSA was killed in battle. That is according to the Glynn Co, Georgia Confederate Pension Rolls where is wife drew a pension for a number of years. There were 2 witnesses to the claim. I do not know who started or has the info that claims a neighbor killed him over a dog, and do not care. It was probably a damnyankee dog anyway and he was battling it.
I have removed his name from the Honour Roll and placed it on the Roll of Honour.
Quite a few names have been added to the Honour Roll, including two that I know are Iraqi bound. They jus be getting out of basic so we all know where they be headed.
We all wish them the best. They are of good stock, so they will be ok. (Don't shoot nobody fellows, you'll be charged with murder. How stoopid can PC get???)
I got in a number of stone pix from Gail Westberry Williams, oh-those 2 are her sons-. I think they are were taken at the Oak Ridge Cem in Arcadia, Florida. Will link them up soon.

Oh, Rabon Westberry is still kicking. Called and talked to his wife. Does have major health problems tho.
It seems we do have a death in Texas. Lottie Westberry Stone, daughter of George Henley Westberry. I got a mail from Rev. Jerry D. Westberry notifying me of it on February 24, but do not have the details yet.

We need comments on this find. I do agree with his 'conjecture" It does account for the two census entries of Jathan and David. Jathan was a nickname for Jonathan. If you look, also check for a Josiah or Joseph. Those names seem to get inter-used.
Rec 25 Feb 2005
There is a D.J. Westberry which appears in the same exact company (A/F) of the 29th Regt., GA. Inf. as Richard F. and Caleb (and Rabun's Simeon A.). This is more than likely the David (b. 1844) of Noah & Nancy Caroline. Lillian Henderson's Rosters of Georgia does not include this soldier to know what the details of the record are, nor have I had the time to travel to Atlanta and NARA to look at the real file to tell you more. But, I thought I would point it out for mutual reference and investigation. Perhaps Noah and Nancy's David is a David Jonathan after Nancy Caroline's uncle (and my own maternal 6th great-grandfather) David Jonathan Strickland (1780-1873). It is a worthy thought, albeit conjecture... Please write back thoughts if you have any...

Tech Tips.
I finally had it up to my ears with that Internet Explorer from M$. About 4 months ago, I went (back) to the Opera Browser, the fastest browser on earth. Let me tell you, it is. It is extremely reliable, but at times has drawbacks that makes you wish for something better. It is still better than that big pile of security holes that M$ passes off on us. Not only that, it is extremely small in size. You have to pay for a version that does not show ads. But the ads are discreet, so no problem there. You can also get a good mail account at Operamail.com. Using their browser or not.
Ah, but reading about how the Mozilla Firefox was starting to be a pain in the wallet of M$, I downloaded a copy of it. Very small in size. Have used it about 2 weeks and love it. Not near as fast as Opera, but has very good features.
If Opera and Mozilla would combine their browsers, it would be surfer heaven.
I do recommend that you change to Firefox and avoid all those security holes that M$ has. Run a search at Google.com for Firefox Browser. Or Opera if you wish. Opera.com.
Stay away from that American online stuff, its dangerous to your computers health.
For you Juno users, yes it is a very reliable setup, with many connections in one area, not like this stoopid phone company that I use that has only one connection. But be aware, the small print gives them the legal right to use your computer and take it over if necessary for their use. These folks aint dumb. They get contracts from large places, like the Universities or the gubmint, and need a super computer to work them. So, they use what is called 'clustering' software to hook all their subscribers together to work the equations.
Don't believe me? Read the small print. I know first hand, seeing it happen to a friend. They would not let him use his computer or get offline!
Go to Firefox, it's free.

I have been going through some stuff and find that Moses had another son born before 1820. Unknown, but not the "Joseph" that was attributed to him. (I fell for that one hook, line and sinker as it was supplied by a Westberry researcher. Never again.)
I have reason to believe that one of his given names was Milton.

November 19, 2004

The Rabun folder has been updated with the latest I gathered. Lots of changes made, so just read the whole thing.
Ole man Knighten has presented a bit of problem for research. Georgia death certs don't have him from 1910 to 1920 period, so will try 1920 to 1930.
I thought him somewhat of a cad. Then I discovered his older brother, Simon-,Simeon, for those other than us.
November 13, 2004

I have added two death certificates, one in Death 01 Folder and one in Death 02 folder. They are Albert Westberry, CSA-confirming that Caleb was his daddy - and in 02 is Henry Demetrius Westberry, son of Albert, CSA.
Don't you just love all this free stuff?

I just looked up our murdering friend at the Georgia Dept of Corrections.
He got life without parole. Started in Nov 2003, so he should be out in about 15-20 years. Says he was born in 1978.
November 07, 2004

Got in an obit in .jpg form that I have to type out. It is Jeanette Sadler Westberry, wife of Eldred L. Westberry, died October 29, 2004. Taylor Co, Florida.
To those that are keeping up with the murder of William Tracy Westberry, August 2000,
a picture of his murderer is published to the side.
Sounds like a real nice
September 18, 2000
The grand jury also indicted 21-year-old Patrick Clark Thompson for gunning down Red Rooster conveneience store clerk Tracy Westberry August 9th. “He was gunned down over a small amount of money,” the D.A. said.
Authorities say after killing Westberry and taking money from the store’s register, he ran to his girlfriends house and threatened to kill her and her two children if she talked. “He used the same weapon on them…, then fled for a number of days.”
Now Thompson could face the death penalty. McDonough says he’ll decide in the next two weeks whether to push for it. Police caught Thompson after he crashed a stolen tractor trailer days after the convenience store murder.

Albert’s* name was Caleb Westberry.
Albert Westberry, CSA’s wife was Louella (Loulla) Williams.
Albert was born October 13, 1834 in Atlanta, Georgia. (I really don’t think Atlanta was it, probably the only place in Georgia that his son-in-law knew about, him being from Missouri)

September 19, 2004

The details are; Dorothy Ann Edenfield, 60, died Sept. 10, 2004, at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville. She is associated to Westberry through her sister, Linda, who married George Lee Hires. Comes down from Nancy, daughter of Thomas Milton, CSA.
One of my “markers” to see who was stealing my info was Uncle Mitchell’s middle name. I gave the spelling as “Reilly”. It was Riley.
Uncle Mitchell’s daughter, Mary Catherine Westberry Carter, is still living and will be 90 YO on 23 Sept 04. She is the last of that generation of James Madison, CSA. She is still very feisty and I expect her to go another 7 years. A very admirable woman. When father deserted her in 1941 while she was pregant with their 3ed child, she worked 24/7 to hold her family together. Laundry, cotton and tobacco fields, house cleaning, ironing and all those other jobs that ‘Mericans “don’t want to do today.” No kind of work was beneath her dignity to provide for her children.
When I get in the mood, I’ll pass on more of my “markers”.
September 17, 2004

Somebody died and I forgot who it was. That’s all, except for the details.
Per a grand daughter, Serena Westberry, change Riley Madison Westberry to Riley Mitchell Westberry. She also sent us a pix of Riley and his son, Clifford. Clifford was US ARMY, WWII.

In between rain, high winds, falling trees, no electricity and no phone, I have managed to add our one and only picture of our Westbury cousins to the site. William Thomas and wife Julia Westbury. There is a picture link on the index page.
September 06, 2004

I have added 3 death certs. Willie Mershon, General Jackson and Lemuel Westberry. Nothing exciting, so the birth of General Jackson and his brother, William, will stay in doubt.

Florrie Gertrude Anderson, wife of Clayton Essmon Westberry, died September 02, 2004, Wayne Co, Georgia.
A new picture has been added to Albert Westberry. Seems we had real cowboys in our family.
For those who do not know that June Carters sister, Helen, married into the Westberry family, (James Randall CSA), here are her specs; Helen Myrl Carter, September 12, 1927, Maces Springs, Virginia; June 02, 1998, Nashville, Tennessee. She married Glenn Jones. He was an aviator and inventor.
One of their sons, David, toured with the Carter Family.

Westberry is going to share some cemetery searching experiences with yall that go snoopin thru the graveyards. Listen up as it just might save your property, your life or your honour.
Some of the graveyards are way out in the boonies, away from the local towns. These are fairly dangerous to visit by yourself anymore. But then again, so are the very large ones within the city.
In 1977, I took my wife and 2 young children to visit the Sassers Landing Cemetery outside of Jennings, Florida. The thought of security never entered our mind. We knew we were “secure.”
We had visited rural cemeteries in Oakman, Alabama and Ackerman, Mississippi. We had to cut brush in one at Piedmont, Alabama. Yet, the problem of being secure from harm never crossed our minds.
People would come up and ask questions and we did the same to them.
About three years ago, I went to Jennings, Florida with the intentions of visiting Sassers. I immediately noticed that the racial balance of the town had changed from White/Black to a majority of hispanic.
We are talking ‘wetback’ here. (Yes, I know the difference, being from Houston, Texas.)
I stopped at the local SS store for a pop and directions. The stores customers were overwhelmingly hispanic.
I drove on over to Sassers. I was in my car under a shade tree, reading thru my notes to see what graves I wanted to get pictures of.
A car comes up the road. I noticed it was full (6) of wetbacks. I immediately drove away.
Sassers is in the sticks. wetbacks have no kin buried there. It is an old White cemetery.
I went back two more times. I had two friends with me, one about the size of Paul Bunyan. Again, here come the wetbacks, but now they were the ones to drive off.
Around the Kinsey in Echols Co, Georgia, the situation is the same on the racial takeover of that part of the 2 states.
I have other stories on my cemetery visits, but the article would get too long.
My advise to you is:
Never go by yourself to a cemetery in the sticks (or in the city if it is a large one. )
When you do go, take some form of weapon, preferably a pistol/revolver. Hopefully you have had handgun training.
One of you must stay alert to watch who is coming your way. I know firsthand how easy it is to get totally involved with a gravestone.
If you perceive a threat, get in your car and leave the area. Try to get their plate number on the way out and then call the cops.
In the large city cemeteries, watch out for gangs of black youths. There is no reasoning with them, just leave as fast as possible.
Never carry any significant amounts of money with you. Get you 2 or 3 credit cards with a 50$ limit to carry around. Throw in about 100$ in cash in 5s and 10s with the cards and you are ready. They will, hopefully, be happy with that if/when they rob you.
Each to his own. Be safe, not sorry, but take steps to limit your losses.

Westberry has added a Week day calculator to figger out the day that your great granny was born on.
It is under, Pictures, Etc.
The Julia Westberry folder has been updated with what little we have.

I am looking for someone in the Valdosta area, preferably retired, to help in our research. I need someone to go to the library, newspaper archives and the courthouse, in addition to the local cemeteries.
There is no pay and the only benefit is the satisfaction of knowing about our extended family. A computer is a must have. A digital camera is a plus. A big plus, but not really necessary. Please contact me at

I forgot a while back to tell yall to change all references to William Ezra Westberry, Sr, to William M. Westberry. (probably William Moses)
Also change the William Ezra Jr to plain old William Ezra. A picture of James Riley Strickland, son of AC Strickland and Nancy Westberry, has been added to the Furman Pictures.

I am in the process of posting a ‘navigation menu’ to make it easier to navigate the site. I had posted it on a test page and got positive feedback from the folks I asked to test it. It is on a limited number of pages right now, but will eventually cover most of them.
No one of our family died today that I know of.

May 9, 2004

The Search Engine has been updated.
April 25, 2004

Our Ancestors and South Carolina cousins have been added to the site. It is far from completion, but hopefully we will get some information after people read it. Eventually it will be set up as the main site is with it’s own index.

We have added some things. A new folder named Documents, under Pictures, Etc. Right now it contains a few death certificates. Two cems have been added under Grave markers. One picture under Furman and one picture under Jarod.
January 13, 2004

Been a long time for any update. Reason being is my eating job has to come first. So we are working to fulfill our obligations before the demorats take over and end the money to the US Military for equiptment update/grade.
I usually put in 8 hours at my eating job and then another 6-8 hours on the family. Every day on the family. That’s been changed tho.
I have been able in the few spare moments I have to add a few things to the site.
A picture posted as an Unknown Westberry has been positively ID’d as Andrew C. Westberry, son of Milton Westberry, CSA.
That makes three that we have ID’d with the help of family members.
Yours will be posted, should you have one, and we will see if a part of our family can ID it. Please send your Unknown Westberry picture for posting.
We just added another interesting Westberry family story involving our Texas cousins to the Family Story section. If you have an interesting story on the Westberry Family, please send it for posting. We are trying to ‘flesh the bones’, so to speak, on our ancestors.
There is more to genealogy than name collecting.
I got in pictures of Joseph S. Westberry and some of his chullins, and will post them as soon as I can. We have to thank Barbara Westberry Jackson for that.
October 21, 2003

Westberry has added much info under the Josiah, Milton, Andrew C. Westberry Folder. A typo listing Irona’s birth year as June 1870 has been corrected, it should have read June 1880, after a census date. But now I put it more in perspective as to what my research shows. As my research has shown she was a child of Spell/Westberry, it will stay there. Dates that are available do not match up to put her under Kicklighter.
However, it comes down to this final scenario: She is a daughter of Spell/Westberry, a baseborn daughter of Kicklighter/Westberry or she has an unknown mother.
From her picture, she bears a striking resemblence to her sister, Mahala. Probably her fathers features.
Check thru the children listings of Irona as info has been added there.
A listing of the obits in the mentioned pages have been listed under Milton Obits.
The Pictures, Etc page has been changed to an easier to read format. I also noticed that I had trashed 6 pictures from Noah, and am working to get them back up.
September 01, 2003

The Richard Furman Westberry folder has been updated. Dates, places, obits, corrections, etc have been added/included.
August 24, 2003

More pictures have been added in the Furman folder, also more in the Albert folder.
Westberry still needs more pictures and information. Please send it for posting so we all may enjoy it.
Remember this, when you or the owner of the old pictures are gone, they invaribly end up in the trash as no one knows who they are/were.
And young folks these days dont really care one wit.
Dianne and Jerry have kept excellent records on their hoard of Westberry pix and we were able to share them with the world immediately. Kudos to boffem.
August 20, 2003

Well, after having spotty access to the site for a number of days, I think we are back in business. I sent a mail to the server management and hopefully the problem has been taken care of.
They said so.
Westberry has added even more pictures from Dianne Westberry to the Furman Picture Folder. A big hug to her for her contributions to the Westberry Family site.
More on Texas coming up.
August 16, 2003

More pictures of the Jared W. Westberry family have been added, thanks to Dianne Westberry. Another Texas cousin has been added, thanks to Jerry David Westberry. (More to add there)
Westberry has added the pictures taken at the 2003 reunion of the Josiah-Milton-Andrew C. Westberry reunion at Baxley, Georgia.
We need boo coos help in tracing these fine cousins of ours back to Andrew, etc.

The Westberry Family site has been having access problems these past few days. Sometimes the server is down for maintainence. This go round seems to be related to that little wiggler that is munching computers worldwide. They are just taking precautions against it. We sincerely hope. With this latest blackout in the NE, it might also be affecting it as the server is in the land-o-yankees.
August 16, 2003

Little Creek has been added to, resulting in a boatload of info on a daughter of Noah Westberry, Jr. Some pictures from the Westberry/Clary book have been added to the Noah Westberry pictures.
August 10, 2003

Another new cemetery has been added. The Westberry section of the Pendarvis at Gardi, Georgia. All the work involving that is the labor of Joy Dianne Westberry Paradise, descended from Jared W. Westberry. Dianne also sent some pictures for the Richard Furman family, which are now posted.
Westberry has also added many other stones/markers under Red Hill, Piney Grove, Old Bethel and Jesup City. Am fixin to do Little Creek. Will also add more pictures to Noah. Again, Stephen Westbrook and his moma, Dorothy Rae Westberry Oliver, were the contributors.
August 10, 2003

A new cemetery has been added. Many pictures have been added to Noah Westberry pictures. One old picture has been added to Josiah Westberry pictures.
Lots more to come.
August 6, 2003

Westberry has updated the Search Engine. Remember, if you are looking for a single individual, use the quotes. Such as “Albert Westberry”. Do not put Albert Westberry. You will pull up most of the site. If you do not know the whole name, put in the first name, such as Albert, no quotes needed.
July 19, 2003

Moses Westberry, Jr has been updated.
July 19, 2003

More pictures have been added under Albert Westberry. I have moved the “HOGS” link to Pictures, ETC, LINKS. More Hogs have been added.
There will be 2 reunions in Jesup on the 2nd and 3ed of August. The first is Westberry/Clary family, the second is the Josiah Westberry family. More info posted as it comes in.
July 16, 2003

Westberry has updated the Albert* Westberry folder. Should you find errors or have corrections, please bring them to our attention.
I know the Mississippi and the Louisiana Westberrys belong to our family through the man that raised Moses Westberry (Furman), John Westbury, his uncle. But we will tackle that another day.
July 13, 2003

Westberry has added pictures of the Albert Westberry line. As soon as I can get the data in order, I will update the Albert folder to reflect the new information.
We owe a debt of graditude to Jerry Westberry of Oklahoma for supplying this Westberry treasure. We must also thank Dorothy Rae Westberry for her work of tying the Texas Westberry branch into Moses.
July 11, 2003

Westberry has updated the Noah Westberry folder. That means the search engines will not find what you are looking for. So do it by the time proven MK1-A1 Eyeball. I have broken the families down so you can easily find your grans.
June 21, 2003

After extensive research, I have come to the conclusion that in the Richard Furman Westberry, CSA family that Jared W. Westberry was the last child of Josiah Westberry, born in 1846-49, his father, Josiah, dying before his birth. Richard took him in to raise him. Also that the two children, Joseph Stewart and Josiah Westberry, sons of Furman are one and the same.
This is my personal opinion based on years of Westberry research, yet there is no proof.
Rachel, wife of Josiah, would have had a hard row to hoe without a husband around.
It was very common back then, when family took care of family, to take in a child of a family member that encountered hardship.
If anyone has real proof to the contrary, please present your argument.
June 20, 2003

A picture of John Ursery Westberry, son of Richard Furman Westberry, has been added. Thanks to his grandaughter, Ruth Westberry Forsythe.
Junteenth 2003

Westberry has added a Family Articles/Stories section. You will find it under Pictures, Etc. If you have stories to share with our extended Westberry family, please send them in to us for posting.
June 18, 2003

Westberry has added more pictures under Josiah Westberrry Pictures.
June 17, 2003

Westberry has updated the SEARCH engine. You should be able to find the name you are looking for.
June 16, 2003

Westberry has added pictures under Richard Furman and Noah Westberry.
I will say that most of the links from search engines, like Google, AltaVista, etc, are broken to the Josiah Westberry family. That folder was updated and most, if not all, pages were given a new name. The onsite Search engine will not pick them up as I have not updated it. But will soon.
June 14, 2003

I guess stealing a graphic from the site is a sincere form of acknowledging that we have the “Right Stuff” going for us.
I recently encountered our Honour Roll graphics at this addy; http://www.kknfa.org/honorroll.htm
I contacted the person, blah, blah, blah, and finally gave him permission to use it as it is one of a kind, representing many eras of Military history in the US, but he must give credit to the graphics designer, Sharon Driver Wright, although Westberry-Moses owns that graphic.
I gave Sharon the specifications on what I wanted and she made it up for Westberry. That was in November of last year, as is stated in the notes below.
Sharon has contributed her graphic designer skills, which are considerable, to designing the graphics on the Westberry site.
I do not mind that people use our stuff, but dammit!, I do mind it being taken without giving due credit to the author or the owner. A simple request to me and I would have given the go ahead without having to find it under Google or an email from someone and having to contact them about it.
Westberry-Moses.Com owns all the graphics on this site, as well as all the material. I will and do freely share it. But do ask for Westberry-Moses graphics before taking them. There will be a lot more posted as backgrounds, etc.
May 30, 2003

Westberry posted this on 3 October 2002; ” I have updated info on Saleta Westberry, daughter of Noah. The spelling of her name is really immaterial to the history that we are trying to uncover. To me it is obvious that this dear old ‘spinster’ lady had children. For now, their father is lost in the netherworld. But, by the grace of the Almighty, we will uncover the truth.”
Well, I am proud to say, we have uncovered the truth.
Dorothy Rae Westberry Oliver located an obituary of Robert Lee Westberry, one of the suspected children of Leacy. It names Sim Westberry as his father. This would be Simeon Westberry, son of Rabun Westberry, CSA.The obit is posted under Noah, Leacy.
But this does not firm up the father of Joseph. However, Joseph’s daughter states that he had one sibling, which is Robert Lee.We can assume rather safely that Sim was also the father of Joseph. Robert and Joseph were not born that far apart and I would never believe the date of Roberts birth on a stack of Bibles. It’s been too far off too many times.

Westberry has updated the Josiah Westberry folder. There are still outside links to be added, but that does not affect the update. Some links on the site that go to Josiah are probably broken, especially from the Roll of Honour and the Honour Roll. I will fix those in the course of the total update.
May 22, 2003

Well, we are getting on top of the update, tho it is taking a lot longer than I figured it would. I am taking the pages down a notch so as to be able to add/correct information without having to do it throughout 20-30 pages.
Makes life easier.
In case you aint noticed, we have added pictures under Jarod Westberry Pictures, that include Martha Hiers, wife of William Westberry, CSA. There are other pictures along this same Westberry line posted there. Thanks to Gail Westberry Williams and Cora Westberry Carter.
Today, thanks to Erin Westberry, we got in more pictures of the descendants of General Jackson Westberry.
I am touching them up now and hope to have them posted in a few days.
I am going to give William Westberry, CSA, his own page to post the photos on. Make it easier to find.
May 09, 2003

Westberry has added more obits under Noah, Josiah and Rabun. Again thanks to Rae Westberry Oliver for her dedication to add more factual/historical information to the Westberry site.
I have yet to find a genealogy site that is more comprehensive in coverage of a single family name than the Westberry site. Information, pictures and documents are presented and all are free to you for downloading for personal use.
However, we do need more information and pictures. Look at it this way; you take our information/pictures that are free to you. Should you not leave something in return for the great expense incurred while bringing this Westberry info to you?
April 20, 2003

My great uncle, Mitchel R. Westberry, had a farm in Echols Co, Georgia. His neighbors were a Black family who had a farm next to his. When the Spanish Flu hit in abt 1919, the Black family came down with it. Uncle Mitchell and his boys helped out best they could on the Black families farm, as they were layed low. While they were recovering, Uncle Mitchell came down with it. Guess what, Jesse, Sharpton, and all you other racists pieces of shit, the Black family took care of Uncle Mitchell’s farm until he was well.
Guess it shows that the Deep South didn’t have the racial problems that we are now led to believe we had until assholes like you folks made the USA believe we had racial problems.
Tell you what, Jesse and your ilk; There is a nice war going on right now in Iraq. Surely you and all your race mongers can make it into a ‘race war’, whitey against towelhead. Why don’t yall just all go over there and stay. Oh, and watch out for the ‘daisey cutters’, they know no racial boundaries.
April 06, 2003

The pictures from Benjamin Westberry have been added under Rabun Westberry pictures. You may visit Ben’s site at http://groups.msn.com/TheWestberryClan
Thank you, Ben.
More obituaries have been posted, thanks to Rae Westberry Oliver.
April 05, 2003

More stone pictures have been added, Kinsey, Carter and Hickory Grove-(Misc folder). Numerous pictures have been added under Jarod, William S. Westberry. We have to thank Gail Westberry Williams and Cora Lee Westberry Carter along with her niece, Dr. Charese Pelham.
We got in many pictures from Ben Westberry on the Rabun Westberry, CSA family and I am trying to get them posted also.
March 30, 2003

Westberry has updated the Rabun folder. We have also added two more cemeteries with stone pictures. More obits have been added. More names have been added to the Honour Roll.
March 23, 2003

I’m going to share these emails with you about the parentage of Moses. This was correspondence to Mary Summerall Burns, daughter of Geraldine Westberry Summerall. Both ladies are now deceased.
For you younger folks and those just getting into the family, Geraldine was the original Westberry researcher, gathering her information by hand in South Carolina and places in Georgia and logging it in notebooks.
I am convinced that the father of Moses Westbury was Capt. Josiah Furman. I also think that Moses’ original name was Joshua/Josiah Jones.

Good Morning Charles,
Thank you for the material. I have a question – who was William Westbury’s
father? So, I can connect him to someone. This information is wonderful.
It’s just amazing how the same Westbury names pop up in other states, i.e.
there is a Robert Westberry who lives across the street from Mother. He is
our cousin. Also, James, Louise, etc.
We made a quick trip to Georgia to see Mother this week. She had some
material to give to me, haven’t had time to look at it yet. Will let you
know if there is anything in there about the Westberrys. I tried to get her
to discuss the Furman-Westbury situation, but she changed the subject to
something else and then back to Furmans, but still didn’t tell me anything.
But, she’s 92 and she can’t remember like she used to. She kept stating that
everything was in the notebook. So, back to the bookcase for me.
Thank you for the information, I really appreciate it.
Talk to you later,
Mary

Hi Charles,
I was talking to Mother yesterday and she told me that she thought you were
right about Moses being married twice. I had showed her the 4 generations
when I was in GA. She told me that she stayed up late Saturday and read it
all. She liked all you had.
I have to limit myself on computer because of my eyes, so I better stop.
Talk to you later,

Good Morning,
Here’s something I found yesterday:
“Death and Obituary Notices from The Southern Christian Advocate, 1867-1878
Issue of January 22, 1869
page 214
Death & Obituary Notices, Southern Christian Advocate, 1867-1878
Mrs. Rebecca Russell, whose maiden name was Rebecca FURMAN, was born April
15th 1793 in Charleston, S.C. Her father was CAPTAIN JOSIAH FURMAN, who
served under Gen. Marion in the American Revolution. He having died in 1800,
she became a member of the family of Capt. Thos Baker, whose wife was her
cousin and the daughter of Dr. Richard Furman, who was for many years the
pastor of a Baptist Church in Charleston. In 1816 she was married to Joseph
A. Russel, who died in 1833, died on a visit with Bro. R. F. Baldwin at
Marshallville, Macon Co., GA. 19th December 1868. Thomas B. Russell”
If Josiah had 2 children outside of his marriage, I guess this is one of
them. I will keep looking, maybe Moses was the other one. I wonder if his
mother was a Westbury? I think that when he was young, he had another name
other than Moses Westberry.
When I told Mother about your email on Josiah Furman, she said “I told you it
was a Furman”. I never have found her notebook.
Since my husband has not hooked up the scanner, I’ll see if my grandson can
do it. He lives with us.
Talk to you later,
Cousin Mary

Charles,
Although right now we are going very slow in finding the connection between our Moses and the Furmans,
I believe we will soon have the answer.
I didn’t know anything was said about Richard Bennett in the Huxford books except his family and record of R.S.
No one knows what Mother found except you and I.
She did her research in SC (Columbia) when she found all that stuff. I’ll ask her though if there is anything
at the Library about Moses’ daddy. Maybe someone else has some ideas.
I’ll call her in the morning and ask if she said anything to Mr. Huxford about the info but she had already
told me that only she and I knew and then I told you.
It is HOT here. I know in Seattle it is nice and cool even though its raining.
Talk to you later,
Cousin Mary
March 12, 2003

Westberry has added new pictures under Jarod-William and under Rabun, CSA. A few obits have been added also and new names to the Honour Roll.
I broke a bone in my foot so am not up to updating what comes in at the present. When I get to feeling a bit better, I will continue on the update with quite a few corrections.
I disabled the Forum as there are some dimwits that think that that is the place to air dirty laundry that I refuse to make public. I’m sorry I had to do that, but some folks were not brought up proper. So we all suffer from their mental shortcomings.
March 10, 2003

New information on Charlton Westberry has been brought to my attention. I am changing some things to reflect that.
More obituaries have been added since last post, including one yesterday, under Jarod-William.
I am still working on the update for the whole site. It will be posted soonest.
February 27, 2003

Mabel Bernice Westberry, daughter of Howell John and Maybell Dukes has passed on. Her obituary is under Noah, William Ezra.
January 29, 2003

“Albert” Westberry, the unknown son of Moses, has been updated. This ties the Texas Westberrys into Moses Westberry. Not all, but most.
January 25, 2003

New information has come to light on old man Rabon Knighten Westberry, son of Rabun Westberry, CSA. Some things will not change, but new evidence shows that his wife, “Lila”, Lillian, Delilah Screws, was married to another before she married Knighten. Susan and Sarah are not children of Knighten, but are his step-children.
Sarah-Sallie- married an Oliver, Boss Oliver. I’ll post it as soon as I can.
January 13, 2003

Westberry has added the Biography section. Please realize that this will not replace the main site pages, but is offered only as an easier method of looking at your ancestors. Lots of names/families will not be included in this project. A camera icon will precede a persons name if we have the picture. An icon will appear in the death part of the info if we have a gravestone picture.
There is lots of work to be done on this, so bear with us.
Thanks to Gail Westberry Williams , the Unknown Westberry has been ID’d as David William Westberry, son of James J. Westberry and Lillian Hall.
January 01, 2003

Westberry has added pictures under Noah Westberry. Also numerous grave stones in various cemeteries thruout the Jesup, Georgia area have been added.
An interview with Rabon Wesberry, son of Asa “Acy” Westberry, Lyons, Georgia, yielded more information on the Rabun Westberry, CSA family.
We will be adding a Westberry Biography section that will include all the data on a person, including pictures. This will take a load off of trying to search out an ancestor, as all the information is on one page.
Please submit your information and pictures for the upcoming update.
Have a safe and Happy New Year.
December 29, 2002

More stones have been added under Evergreen Cemetery.
I have a lot of new data to upload, but I am exhausted, so will not do any more updates until next year. I will do a complete update of the site at that time. If you have information that you wish to be included, please send it now. I need info-dates, names, places-, on all the families, corrections, Military members, pictures, family stories and documents to post.
Yall celebrate a Christmas of your choosing, and if challenged about it, pull the towel off their head.
Also have a happy New Year. Do not forget the blackeyed peas on New Years day. You shudda knowed that from your moma.
December 16, 2002

Westberry has added more stones under the Westberry Cemetery. Again, thanks to the Westbrook family.
I removed the CSA from Josiah’s stone, in the picture, as he died 10-15 years before we were invaded by the north.
December 09, 2002

Westberry has updated the Search Engine and added an obit under Richard Furman Westberry.
December 08, 2002

Westberry has posted more gravestones under Woodlawn, thanks to Sharon Driver Wright. This is the Howell John Westberry family.
December 08, 2002

More obits have been added. I have changed the format of the gravestones to make them easier to find. They are listed by churches/cemeteries.
December 07, 2002

More information has been added under Albert* and an obituary under Josiah/John Moses.
December 05, 2002

Westberry has posted many more grave stones, thanks to the Westbrook family.
December 02, 2002

Thought I’d share this story with yall.
My father died in 1974. He always lied about where he came from in Georgia. He never talked about his family.
In about 1975, thereabouts, I located his sister in Lake Park, Georgia. I went to see her. I got her interested in roots research and she supplied some information to Huxford that was printed in a couple of the Pioneers of Wiregrass books.
She gave me a lot of our family names, histories and stories.
One story I found to be beyond belief, and continued to hold that attitude until recently.
My great great grandfather, James Madison Westberry, CSA, was a slave owner. I never bothered to check that out as it does not interest me in the least.
My great granpa, James Robert Westberry, was born in 1857, in what became Echols Co, Georgia in 1858.
The slaves owned by his father were raising him. They were freed by JM, CSA, but elected to stay with him. And they did, and raised James Robert, and possibly the rest of his kids.
She said when James Robert’s wife died in 1925, the ‘slaves’ and their children that were still alive buried her at the Kinsey Cemetery and put a hand poured concrete slab over her grave. They carved in the name, Mrs J. R. Westberry. I have seen it 2 times and have posted the original picture I took of it in 1977. (I am going back for a better picture)
Recently I got a letter from Morris Westberry, a descendant of James Robert Westberry, and he tells me about the slaves staying with the Westberry family after being freed. That confirms what my aunt told me those many years ago.
In 1878, one of them tried to save JM, CSA’s sister from a fire, to no avail. Read the story of LAVINA WESTBERRY, sister of James Madison Westberry, CSA. It’s posted.
How ya like it, Jesse? Al? Farragut?
December 02, 2002

Westberry has added some stones from the Jones Creek Church. I was interested in Parker and Chapman/Leigh. Mary Leigh and Francis Chapman being the parents of Keziah Chapman who married the unknown son (Albert*) of Moses. According to the stone info on Mary, she was not a wife of Francis Chapman, but was his consort. His wife was Matilda and she is also buried there.
Another name has been added to the Honour Roll.
December 01, 2002

Westberry has added 14 more stones.
November 30, 2002

Westberry has added two more stones and two more names to the Honour Roll. I do have some corrections and additions to make, but it will be a while before posting.
November 26, 2002

The UNKNOWN Westberry picture page has been re-added. Your help is needed to identify this person. If you have a picture of an unknown Westberry, please send it in so as to be posted. Maybe someone out there can ID it for you. We have Id’d two since this started.
No charge for the service. The link is under Pictures, Etc.
November 24, 2002

Westberry has added 5 more grave stones. They are under # 10 and # 12. We also added another picture to the Noah Westberry family.
I am thinking about doing away with the forum. I am having too much trouble keeping it going ever since the host ‘upgraded’ the server. It is not used that much anyways. Pictures and info can be uploaded thru the upload feature, or can be mailed to me, and I will post it.
November 24, 2002

More grave stones have been added, including Milton Westberry, CSA.
And from what I hear, we will be having more information and pictures that we could only dream of having a few years ago concerning Westberry.
November 21, 2002

More obituaries have been added and I have named the cemeteries where the stones are.
November 19, 2002

Westberry is the 9,756th most popular last name (surname) in the United States; frequency is 0.001%; percentile is 70.838 [SourceCBN]

Westberry has put up a few gravestone/markers concerning the Westberry family. They are fairly large pictures so I have limited them to 4 per page. Read the instructions. The link is under Pictures, Etc.

Now look at this mail exchange below. This sorry excuse of a damnyankee calls me selfish and mean spirited. He cannot even send an attachment right as the picture he stole from the site did not come in, and it aint even my granpa as he states. Seems he took only the html page and is pretty horrible at spelling simple words. But what can be expected of people like this that live off the labours of others? If it wasn’t for my efforts, this Westberry information would not be here. Maybe it would, but you would be charged for it.

Well I went digging into the Moses Westberry site. It is very nice, but the author appears to be a very disgruntled and selfish man. In my 12 or so years of family history research, I have never meant someone who was not openly willing to share data in any way that would help. As you can read below, he is not willing (other than allowing us to see it from his website).
Between now and reunion time, I am going to try to input all the Howell John Westberry descendants into my software so that we can have some very nice printouts for everyone to view/verify/correct.
By the way, I printed a good picture of your grandfather, father, and 2 uncles, and gave it to Claire. I’ll also attach it to the bottom of this email for you. Maybe you have seen it already.

Nice to hear from you.
No, I will not release my complete file as it represents 25 years of work and 30K$ out of my pocket. What I post is what people get, and they get it for free.
The information on the site is copyrighted to me and may not be used without my permission, nor under any circumstances may it be sold.
Then you state in return for my lifes work, you will give me some info on the Howell John family.
Sorry, I do not do deals.
Though this mail sounds harsh to you, think about what we have both said in the contents.
My info is there to share, and you already have it. It is your turn to share with me.
Sincerely,
Westberry

Legacy software to track my research, and I was wondering if you could
send me your data file so that I could import it. I can import the following types of files: PAF, GEDCOM, or Legacy (FDB). Obviously, this would save me a tremendous amount of time.

In return, I could attempt to verify and add to the data you have for the Howell John Westberry descendants. Each June, we have a reunion for the descendants of Howell John (usually at Wakulla Springs State Park in > Tallahassee, FL). My wife and I are in the middle of a two-year stint as the coordinators for the reunion. If I can get your info imported, I can then print out a “book” for everyone to verify and add data during the > reunion next summer.

Well, we just found out some information on my great uncle Allen B. Westberry and a little about cousin Austin Westberry and Homer Padgett, also a cuz. This info comes from Oscar Morris Westberry, Jr, grandson of Forest Lawson Westberry. Forest was Allens brother. Austin was the son of Artise Walter Westberry, him also a brother to Allen, them all being younger brothers of my granpa James M. Westberry.
If you read the book on Austin Westberry that is posted on the site, you will see that Allen was sentenced to the chair and Austin, etc were given life at hard labour for a double murder they did not commit. Seems Austin and Homer escaped and turned theirselves in much later as they were tired of running. I know that Homer Padgett died in Lake Park, Georgia about 15 years ago. My cousin, Benny Connell was his next door neighbor and told me about it. The guards had beaten the holy hell out of Allen, shaved his head and put him in the chair. Allen told them that God would protect him as he was innocent. The govenor called and stopped the execution. Later they were all freed.
Morris Jr said that Allen came to live with them in Lakeland, Florida. Said he would sit on the porch and pick scabs off his head where he was beaten so bad by the guards.
He doesn’t know what happened to Austin except that he went to the Bradenton/Manatee area. That jives with what a step-daughter of Allens son told me. Hopefully we will find out more. I would love to find that Austin ended up happily married and had a bunch of little Westberrys.
Ok, due to the digilence of Dorothy Rae Westberry, we have added more information under Albert Westberry, CSA, son of the unknown Westberry of Moses. We should now be able to tie in a bunch of the Texas Westberrys to our family.
Thanks to Hilda Westberry Vaughn, I will soon add more information to the Wilburn Louis family.
November 15, 2002

Just updated the SEARCH engine, many things being added to the search.
November 10, 2002

I have added the lost information from the server ‘upgrade’ back to the site. I hope I found it all. I also have added 2 more obits and information under Gilford Miles Westberry, John S., Moses Jr.
Some have said they cannot get into this site. The problem is probably with your bookmark/favorite, as was my case. Delete that bookmark, type in the URL, then add that to your bookmarks/favorites. The ‘upgrade’ forgot us users.
November 10, 2002

Westberry has added an Obituary Section, comprising most of the obits that we have collected. Should you have an obit that is Westberry connected, please send it for posting.
November 05, 2002

Well, everything seems to be back in working order, though I still have to add the corrections and additional information that Westberry lost in the server ‘upgrade’.
I am finally able to load graphics again and have sent up the one designed for the background of the Honour Roll page. The graphic covers most of our conflicts and Military funerals. It is a must see.
It was designed by Sharon Driver Wright of Perry, Florida. She is not related to Westberry but has been of great assistance in providing graphics and Westberry pictures found throughout the site.
Sharon is a dedicated genealogist and is the host of the Roots Web Ware Co, Georgia site. Ware has supplied a lot of information on Westberry and related families.
Thank you Sharon.
On the suggestion of Steve Westbrook, we will be putting in a seperate page/s of obituaries as we now have boocoos of them going way on back. They will be seperated into the family they descend from Moses, Sr. I am proud to say that so far, all of them descend from a CSA soldier.
November 04, 2002

The Host has been moving the server, causing me access problems. I also noticed that we lost some new information that was posted, including the two listed below. I will fix what I find. We also lost the ‘SEARCH’ feature until I can get it back up.
I have updated and linked all the names on the Honour Roll.
November 03, 2002.

I have added an obituary to Josiah, Moses Josiah, James Randall, James Franklin. Eva Mae Strickland, wife of James F. died on 23 October 2002.
October 30, 2002

Mary Ann Westberry/Isham Bennett, daughter of Josiah Westberry has suffered through some updating.
October 28, 2002.

A new picture of Susan Williams, wife of William Braxton Westberry has been added under Josiah Pictures.
More information has been added under Washington K. Westberry, son of John Moses Westberry, CSA.
October 27, 2002.

Thanks to Rannel Elmore Westberry, we are now able to tie in the Rannel Orbon Westberry family. They are descended from Rabun Westberry, CSA, thru John W. Westberry. (Randal, 1894 census listing)
We are also proud to add four more of the descendants of Moses to the Honour Roll. I will link them to their names shortly. ( I screwed something up and caint do it right now.)
October 26, 2002

I have corrected information under William Randall Westberry and corrected the data on the pictures of Carlos Ferdinand under Josiah Pictures.
October 26, 2002

I have made changes and added people on these pages.
http://www.westberry-moses.com/main/furman/furman/furmanjr02.htm

http://www.westberry-moses.com/main/josiah/rachel/rachel11.htm
I also changed a name in the Honour Roll that served in VNAM.
October 19, 2002

I just found out that Mary Frances Summerall has died on 27 Sept 2002. She was the daughter of Geraldine Westberry Summerall, Geraldine being the original Westberry roots researcher. She was the daughter of Adrian T. Westberry.
Westberry will definitly miss this dear lady for her contributions to the Westberry Family History and the photos she supplied for our benefit.

OBIT:
BLACKSHEAR–A funeral for Mary Frances Summerall Burns, 73, of Semmes, Ala., will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel at Pearson-Treadwell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Blackshear Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 o’clock at the funeral home.
Mrs. Burns died Friday (Sept. 27, 2002) at Providence Hospital, Mobile, Ala. following a long illness.
A Blackshear native, she made her home in Alabama the past 22 years. She was retired from the University of Alabama where she worked as biochemistry department secretary. She was a former member of Blackshear First United Methodist Church.
She attended LaGrange College, earning a certificate in music. She was a daughter of the late Herman D. and Geraldine Westberry Summerall.
Her son Jeffory Burns died in 1976.
The survivors are her husband, Robert M. Burns of Semmes; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert David and Elizabeth Burns of Nashville, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Roxie Summerlin and Robert David “Robbie” Burns Jr.; a sister, Miss Gerry Summerall of Blackshear; and several other relatives.

I have just updated the Search Engine.

October 11, 2002.

Westberry-Moses needs more names of our people that served in the Armed Forces of our country. We have a good start on listing these people, which I and many others that served, consider it as an honour to be listed. Some have mailed me to make sure they are listed. I know we have not even scraped the surface to list all our people that served honourably. So please send the names and other pertinent data in so it can be posted.
I have put the picture of Woodrow Wilson Westberry that Erin Westberry so graciously posted in the forum, under the family of William S. Westberry, Jarod Westberry Pictures.
Thank you Erin.
October 11, 2002.

For the umpteenth bazillion time, Robert Glen Westberry, killed in the Oklahoma incident, was not a blood descendant of Moses Westberry, as far as can be determined. Therefore, I will not include his genealogy on the site, but will leave him on the Roll of Honour.
Robert was killed in the Oklahoma City bombing on April 19, 1995. He worked for the Defense Department.
This is from his wife;
“Yes he was adopted by Theron and Lillian Westberry and grew up in Daytona Beach. ”
Mathilda A. Westberry, March 02, 2002.

2. WILLIAM THERON WESTBERRY (WASHINGTON KNYFAUSEN4, JOHN MOSES3, JOSIAH2, MOSES1) was born December 03, 1912, and died December 1970. He married LILLIAN.
Child of WILLIAM WESTBERRY and LILLIAN is:
i. ROBERT GLEN WESTBERRY, b. August 18, 1937; d. April 19, 1995, Oklahoma; Adopted child.

I have added info under General Jackson Westberry-Walter Emerson.
Oct 7, 2002

I have added info under Rabun-John.
Oct 6, 2002

It is normally accepted that Moses is buried at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Jesup, Georgia. Few care to look at the info that says that his marker is a “memorial marker”. It was placed over an unmarked grave in a 1976 reunion of the Westberrys. It was put up as a dedication to him. Sometimes historical facts/expediencies, get in the way. It is a fact that Moses was living with his youngest son, Richard Furman, in the Holmesville area in 1860. Moses is listed as a farmer. Supposedly he died in 1864.
I for one, seriously doubt that his family would carry his body about 20 miles to bury him at that church when the males of the family are all off to war and Sherman’s incendiaries are beating on the gates.
No, he is probably buried on his sons farm near Holmesville, along with his wife.
I have been to his “grave” at Bethlehem. It is under a tree. When you go there, take along some detergent, water and clorox to get rid of the scum that forms on the stone.

October 3, 2002
A big hug to the Stephen Westbrook family and his mom for all the help and information they have supplied to Westberry in these few short months of time. Steve’s mom is Dorothy Rae Westberry, daughter of David Monroe Westberry, David Marion Westberry, William Ezra-Rachael Westberry.
We are deeply indebted to them and their devotion to adding factual information to the Westberry Family History.

October the Threeth, 2002
I have updated info on Saleta Westberry, daughter of Noah. The spelling of her name is really immaterial to the history that we are trying to uncover.
To me it is obvious that this dear old ‘spinster’ lady had children. For now, their father is lost in the netherworld. But, by the grace of the Almighty, we will uncover the truth.
I do have a few (one) doubt here, as I had been asked a few years ago to agree that this family was from North Carolina. Then I was asked to agree that they descended from Joseph C. Westberry, (an unknown son of Moses), without any proof. OK, That made a little more sense. But my findings negated all that.
I stand on what I find. I do my best to track down something that might be controversial about our family before I post it. But, when it happened over 50 years ago, I go with my nose. Which hasn’t failed me yet.

September 29, 2002
We have been getting a lot of ‘hits’ at the site. But I must tell you, to keep this site updated with new information, pictures, documents and corrections, we need all the help we can get. That means if you see your family in here, please upload a picture, new information, corrections, or email it to the webmaster.
If you do not see your family or name in here, but you belong here, please send the data so I can post it.
I have researched our family for 25+ years. Going to courthouses, cemeteries, Churches, transcribing documents from microfilm, begging, borrowing and paying others to get their help.
I have made all my data free to anyone who wants it for personal use. (Yes I know there are those that take it to sell it and I am on them without letup. Just shut one of them down) Everything on this site is copyrighted to protect us from those folks that will stoop so low as to sell our family data. But all of it is yours for personal use.
I can no longer afford to go out and beat the bushes for new info, so I am asking you all for help.
I pay all the bills associated with the site while holding down a full time job. It gets to be expensive.
So please send/email/upload your pictures and/or information to keep Westberry updated.
US Mail for pictures can be arranged-send them, we scan and send them back, with a disk that contains all the pictures so you can share them with your family or friends.

I have updated the Allied Family of Hiers.
Sept 21, 2002

I have added more pictures to Noah Westberry and have added extensive information to the Thornton Family. I also changed the Thornton Family format to reflect the sites format. I will be changing all the Allied families to this format and updating them in the near future, as time permits.
Sept. 14, 2002

I have linked all the names in the Honour Roll pages to their places in our family. Each name will open in a seperate window so that you can close out that window without using your back button.

When using the search engine, type your name in like this,
“James Edward Westberry” or “James Westberry”, make sure you use the quotes.
If you type in James Westberry, you will pull up nearly the whole site. You can also use a single name, such as Alton, with no quotes or a Westberry behind it.

Steve wanted me to let you know that he heard from Linda Dale Westberry Bowen that her Uncle Bud passed away this morning about 4:30 a.m., September 2, 2002. There is visitation tomorrow evening (that he will try to attend) and then the services and burial will be Wednesday at 3:00 p.m at New Hope Church.
Royal Dean Westberry spent his days in prayer and serving our Lord Jesus like his father and his grandfather before him. He has joined them in Heaven at his “home in Glory”. Let us follow his advice to “Pray, practice patience, and serve the Lord”. May our Lord Jesus greatly bless his family and his descendents for the example he has set for us all.

By Carlos Ferdinand Westberry, III

David Marion Westberry died in South Carolina, not Wayne Co, Georgia as I have listed it.

If you have information or pictures you wish to post on Westberry, please use the UPLOAD button. It is very simple to use. It will handle a lot larger file than an Email attachment, up to 6 MBs.

Please. When you send up a picture, make sure it is of a size that can be used where details can be seen. A fairly large picture, like about 5-6 inches wide.
A picture of a large group that comes in at 2.5 inches, is not usuable.
